Documentary by Stéphane Bergouhnioux & Jean-Marie Nizan
62 minutes - Canal + - 2018

Synopsis

The director of OSS, The Artist or Le Redoutable [Godard Mon Amour] – whose films juggle references and riff on the great classics – takes us into comic cinephile territory to discuss with filmmakers about the various ways of making a film and/or a comedy. In Los Angeles, Judd Apatow talks about his work as a producer and director and Mel Brooks plays host in his office at the famous Culver City studio. Michel Hazanavicius also crosses paths with Francis Veber, Éric Judor and Alain Chabat (all of whom he has worked with). Italian comedy takes centre stage in discussions with the Oscar-winning director and box-office record-holder Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano. And Bérénice Bejo, his wife, reveals some of her trade secrets. Cinema by… Michel Hazanavicius reveals a portrait of the filmmaker about to shoot The Forgotten Prince with Omar Sy
