Coralie Fargeat has established herself as a leading figure in contemporary genre cinema. Radical and visceral, her deeply feminist work transforms violence into language and creative energy. A winner at Cannes (Best Screenplay Award 2014) and nominated for the 2025 Oscars (5 nominations), she explores a cinema of the body and excess, driven by powerful and demanding direction.

Through an intimate interview, clips from her films and her key influences, this portrait reveals her imagination – from Star Wars to David Lynch, David Cronenberg and Darren Aronofsky – and shows how she turns gore into a political tool and genre cinema into a space for reappropriation. From Revenge (2018), her debut feature film which reimagines the revenge movie from a female perspective, to The Substance (2024), in which she explores the body, youth and beauty, Coralie Fargeat challenges the representation of women on screen and channels anger, imagination and creative energy.
