Synopsis
Football is the most mediatised spectacle in the world today. Modern football is show business, with players and some coaches taking centre stage. But in recent years a new set of actors – or rather, actresses – have entered the game. Playing on a different field, they are seeking media recognition and economic heft of their own.
These women are known as “WAGs”, the acronym for football “wives and girlfriends”.
Femmes de footballeurs, la vraie vie des WAGs goes to Great Britain to meet Aalya Ceilia, the young English wife of Liverpool player Jerome Sinclair; Majda and Mamadou Sakho, star of the Franc team; the Italians Francesca Tommasi and Francesca Brienza, and Désiré Cordero, Miss Spain, and the Frenchwomen Celia Jaunat and Sidonie Biémont, wives of Grzegorz Krychowiak and Adil Rami, players for Sevilla and Polish and French nationals, respectively.
Airs June 23rd on Paris Première.
